Cold Freight

This division of Penguin was born out of frustration in the days when the big companies would monopolise the space on the Auckland - Whangarei refrigerated transport. Come Easter, Labour weekend or Christmas - Penguin's stock would be left behind in Auckland!

Reluctant to be held hostage in this way, Penguin started a Freight division. This has grown from the original 250HP truck and trailer to now comprise seven 430HP prime movers with Fairfax fiberglass insulated bodies. This is a very competitive industry, and the north has very few backloads available and lots of empty running - our local knowledge combined with the Distribution truck coverage helps us compete with the big players.

Our customers include Supermarkets, Distributors, Retailers, Produce growers, meat processors (we have the relevant OMAR certificates), food manufacturers, seafood companies, and of course, Penguin itself.
